We are delighted to welcome back Allan Clayton to Stewarts Soundbites. Allan was a promising young footballer who was only 17 when he sustained a spinal cord injury in a road traffic accident.

Interviewed by Emma Lyons, Personal Injury Senior Associate at Stewarts.

He was told there was only a 5% chance that he would be able to use his limbs again. Against all the odds, he excelled in his rehabilitation and walked away from the spinal unit. In our previous session, Allan took us through his journey, his problems after the settlement of his injury claim and the turning points in his life.

In this episode, Allan discuss sex and dating after spinal cord injury. Although a difficult and sensitive topic, it is an important one not only for those impacted by spinal cord injuries but also for everyone working in the spinal cord injury community.

Allan addresses, from personal experience, the challenges of meeting someone new and dating after spinal cord injury. He discussed the impact of disability upon physical function, confidence and relationships.
